On the 18th November, Wojciech Ostrowski (University of Dundee) gave a guest lecture at the Westminster International Relations Forum, University of Westminster, London.

Luis Tercero (Fraunhofer ISI) was part of one of the panels at the EPP Group Hearing "New EU Strategy on Raw Materials", held 18th November at the European Parliament in Brussels.

Luis Tercero (Fraunhofer ISI) was an invited speaker at the conference "Sicherheitspolitik im Zeichen zunehmender Rohstoffknappheit" (Security policy in light of increasing raw material scarcity) organised jointly by the Hanns Seidel Foundation and the Asko Europa-Stiftung.

CIEP organised a small roundtable on cooperation and conflict in the Mineral Sector in the context of POLINARES on 29 March 2010.

A very successful POLINARES kick off meeting was held on the 26 January 2010 at Scotland House, Rond Point Schuman 6, Brussels, Belgium.

The challenges presented by global competition for access to oil, gas and mineral resources are the subject of a European-wide study being led by the University of Dundee. The aims of the project are to identify the main global challenges relating to competition for access to resources, and to propose new approaches to collaborative solutions.
